Christmas 2013

I hate flying.
I get that it's fast, and I'm so so so grateful that I don't have to drive 16 hours through the misty mountain passes but this time in particular was an especially bad experience.

BUT Christmas at home was wonderful.
I can't express how much I love my family and the Pacific Northwest.
Almost as much as I love potatoes. Probably.

Low key.
Helped move my parents into a new house which I LOVE and got to see some family and take some pretty pictures.

Homeless

Ugh the infamous "homeless period" at BYU.
My contract at my old apartment ran out, but the contract at the new apartment wasn't happenin' for like, 10 days. So I had 3 options.

1. Sleep on someone's apartment floor for a week and work on campus.
2. Find someone's house to live in around Utah and not work.
3. Be homeless and work on campus while also making some spare change while begging.

Instead I chose Option 4, and flew home to BELLINGHAMMMMMM.

Things I did during my week in the motherland:

1.) Played ping-pong on the Seattle waterfront with the homeless.
(Hempfest was going on...THAT was fun.)

2. Ate pho. My other lover.

3.) Walked around Artist's Point at Mount Baker.

4.) Turned 20 and ate cake.

5.) Biked around Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

6.) Found creepy Asian statues. Canada, art?

Home for Mother's Day Weekend

I've been missing home and family since I've decided to live in Provo through the summer. I wasn't sure when I would get a chance to make the trip up north.
Theeeeennnn I decided to just go for a few days and surprise my momma over Mother's Day weekend!
So I called (actually texted) my padre and two weeks later I was on a plane.

She didn't even seem surprised!! My dad even had to lie to her and miss my brother's championship soccer game to pick me up from the airport! Well, at least my dad and my sibs can keep a secret. She's just too smart.

Home is where your people are! It's weird; even though I've been away and almost feel like an adult at school, (almost - not quite) when I go home I feel like a kid again. Which is perfectly fine. I would've liked to be home for a couple more days.

My momma has been practicing her photography, so we went downtown to take some pictures. Some silly college kids were dinking around on skateboards, and one of them did a jump or something. His friends were like "Ohhhhh you did it!" And then he was like, "Yeah, I knew I could do it! I just didn't want to fall in front of those pretty girls."
Me and momma could be sisters. A lot of my friends have siblings that are her age haha. I guess that's what we get for both being the oldest children!

Love and miss you, family!
I'll see Momma and Michelle in a few weeks!
